Back in 1982, our founders decided to open a store that was different from the giant industrialized grocery stores of the time. The name of our business is ¡Viva la Verde! in honor of our desire to live green and our love for the Spanish language, culture, and food. We started VV in April of 2009 by selling our foods at the Beaver Street Farmers Markets in Jacksonville, Florida. We saw the need for home delivery of our food to customers in Duval, St. Johns, Clay, and Putnam County. We are happy to provide some wonderful and tasty organic produce, as well as any bulk items you may need to complete your healthy kitchen, such as olive oil, sesame seeds, almonds, almond butter, and natural sweeteners such as honey and agave nectar. As a French bistro incarnated in the American south, our menus feature some extremely traditional Paris bistro classics, alongside dishes that apply French technique but bring in some southern American influences. As a recipient of Slow Food First Coast’s Snail of Approval, responsibly produced ingredients are always a focus for our food menus, as well as our wine list and cocktail menu.
